The Merry Band of Christmas (MBOC) is a volunteer Christmas group stationed out of Irving Texas. The membership consist of a few members who are alumni of

Irving ISD as well as all parts of the Metroplex. The MBOC Band has grown to 40+ members and is actively looking to expand the instrumentation of the group.

We are in need of Clarinets, Low Brass, Horns and Low reeds.

(You can never have enough Low Brass, Horns and Low reeds)

We always encourage everyone to invite their friends!

Rehearsals for the MBOC are on Tuesday nights from 7-9 pm and will begin on

October 7, 2025.

The Rehearsal location for 2025 will be announced sometime during the Spring. 

 

The band is not just all about rehearsing and performing. We also like to "unwind" after each rehearsal at a local restaurant. This gives one another a chance to socialize and develop lifetime friendships.

Worried about learning so many pieces of music? ​

Don’t worry! We will send you to a Youtube link for every piece of music we play.

Once you have listened to the recordings a few times, you will learn the

music faster than you think. In addition, the rehearsals are pretty fast

paced to be able to run the pieces a few times. 

 

Are there any fees to join? ​

​

No! It's free to join. All we ask is for you to commit to making rehearsals as well as performances. If you think about it, we will only meet each other maybe 13 times when you count rehearsals and performances. That's it! Although we will only meet 13-14 times, we will create a lifetime of memories for the people we play for.
